Luverne Seifert
Luverne is Head of BA Performance in the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance at The University of Minnesota. He is a professional actor/director who has performed at theatre venues across the country. He received a BA degree in Theater Arts from Augsburg College and has trained in Switzerland with the internationally renowned clown, Pierre Byland. From 1994 until 1999, he performed exclusively with Theatre de la Jeune Lune and served as an Artistic Associate. With Jeune Lune, he appeared in over 20 productions including; Hamlet (at the New Victory Theatre on Broadway), Tartuffe, Amerika, The Three Musketeers (at the International Spoleto Festival) Chez Pierre, Children of Paradise (La Jolla Playhouse), Gulliver's Travels, Twelfth Night, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. He has also appeared with The Children's Theater Company (Tales of a West Texas Marsupial Girl, Antigone, Go Dog Go, Once Upon a Forest) Ten Thousand Things (Richard III, Little Shop of Horrors, Antigone, In A Garden, At Your Service, Mud, King Lear, and The Furies) Eye of the Storm, Open Eye Figure Theatre (The Holiday Pageant), Three-legged Race, Frank Theater, North Star Opera Company, Red Eye Collaboration, Nautilus, and Shawn McConneloug and her Orchestra. He co-wrote Description of the World with Bob Rosen at Theatre de la Jeune Lune and co-created/directed In Dreams Begin Responsibilities for Three-legged Race. He was the recipient of the 2003 McKnight Fellowship for Theater Artists.
